Edugso Community Project

 

Edusgo stands for: Edukey Gender Support Organisation.

‘Edukey for kids’ our foundation in the Netherlands experienced a need for a community project in our district where Edukey is active. Although Edukey for Kids was founded to support children in Uganda we feel there is a serious need to reach out to youth and women of the community.

However to keep activities apart from one and another we decided to found another organisation to come forwards the needs of the youth and women of the community.

Edugso (Edukey gender support organisation) is our local registered organisation and operate its programs activities in Wakiso District and its head office shall be located in Gangu- Masajja- Makindye Sabagabo Municipality- Wakiso District.

The Organisation’s purposes are:

(a) To promote the rights and obligations of vulnerable children, youth and women to fully participate in development issues for their self reliance

(b) To raise awareness and information about children, youth and women growth and development, equal access, equal opportunities, equal participation within the community. 

Our goal: Empowering vulnerable people in the community with knowledge, information, skills for their development and advocating for the rights.

The objectives to which the organization is established are:-

 To support children and youth attain education and hands on skills training for self reliance

  1. Empower and transform the lives of people in communities through information, knowledge and skills development for self reliance
  2. Support women by building their capacity in entrepreneurship and income generating to support their families
  3. Support women by building their capacity in entrepreneurship and income generating to support their families
  4. Promote Adolescent Sexual Reproductive Health, prevention and protection of HIV transmission among people in communities.

There were Edukey is more focused at small kids and supportive towards education tools, Edugso is set up to support the community.

The founders of Edugso in Uganda are: Peter F. Muganda, Barba Nantongo, Jemba Peter Muganda and Tebezinda M. Derrick.( Derrick)
